Professional self-determination is part of selfdetermination, i.e. a lifestyle choice, a profession. There are several psychological and pedagogical reasons for the importance of career choices. Every person needs the recognition of others and want to be recognized, looking for approval, love and independence. One way to achieve this is to choose a profession that would be allocated to it in the eyes of others and brought him emotional satisfaction. This identification with the profession allows a person to find themselves, promotes self-realization and self-expression. Therefore, in the youthful search for individuality and satisfaction a very strong motivation of choice of profession, contribute to the realization of the individual. A conscious choice of profession occurs with orientation to existing social values: - social prestige (fashion, material well-being); - interest (often inspired by film, TV show, based on the advice of friends or parents). Thus, a profession can be chosen depending on many circumstances, but it is important to understand how to select activities to meet the interests and abilities of the person. What factors influence professional self-determination of teenagers? First, the sphere of friendships. Secondly, the media. Thirdly, teaching staff, class teacher, subject teachers.
